A much-loved vegetable of children and adults alike, sweet corn is sweet and juicy making it perfect for family BBQs during the summer. Best of all it’s not a difficult vegetable to grow.
Corn seedlings can be planted now in all Australian zones, even in cold areas. Depending on how warm the climate is, seedlings planted will take 60 to 90 days to harvest.
Plant multiple rows of corn to aid pollination. They need deep soil, enriched with organic fertiliser – 5 IN 1 Organic Fertiliser and a sunny position in an area protected from the wind. As long as the site is in a hot position, sweet corn is one of the few vegetables that can tolerate boggy soil. Read more on growing sweet corn here.
